Avila Beach: A Little Bit of Heaven

The first time I went to Avila Beach was when my daughter was about 2 years of age.  I always took her to the Central Coast for our vacation because it was only three hours from Los Angeles and was about as long of a car ride as she and I could take.

I am no Badia Masabhi, but I began to appreciate and  learn to belly dance two summers ago at the Angel’s Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro.  My friend Mary had become obsessed with Shakira and didn’t want to go to class alone.  It has been one of the best endeavors of my life. Â
